Re: my new ss Feldmutze
Nice cap but too damaged for my personal taste. Here are some overseas caps from friends:
First is an officer overseas cap with the aluminum wire piping, aluminum flat wire insignia and the white soutache;
Second is a standard enlisted overseas cap taken right out of the depot. The strings that you can see attach two museum property tags: one is from the Red Army Museum in Moscow and has all of the capture information on the back, and the second is from the Red Army Artillery Museum in St. Petersburg;
Finally, a standard enlisted overseas cap with a black soutache for engineers.

Re: my new ss Feldmutze
Sebastien,
You sure like those 'salty' caps don't you. Personally I like my uniforms and caps to be in excellent condition as possible. Here are some more overseas caps including some really rare ones:
Officer Overseas Cap with the white soutache material being used for the officer piping. The eagle is aluminum machine-woven and the Totenkopf is a hand-embroidered silver bullion skull collar tab that has been cut out and applied to this cap. Cap is named to an officer in the Race & Resettlement Hauptamt.
Issue enlisted overseas cap with the addition of officer's aluminum cord piping.
Enlisted Black Panzer Overseas Cap, size 61, mint - unissued condition with 2-piece machine-woven insignia.
Enlisted Overseas Cap with red soutache for artillery. Cap is stenciled and dated 1940.
Very rare Waffen-SS Enlisted Tropical Overseas Cap with even rarer autumn camouflaged insignia. This cap came out of the SS clothing depot in Linz, Austria and was manufactured by Schmid & Menner using slave labor at KZ Mauthausen.

Thank you, Tom, but remember, these are NOT my caps. They belong to my friend and mentor, Willi Schumacher. He owns the caps with the red and white soutaches and another friend owns the one with the black soutache.

Re: my new ss Feldmutze
Sorry, Willi has lost total interest in the forums and berates me all the time for being on them. He said that someday I'll learn my lesson and also drop all of the forums I'm on. Many years ago on another forum he was berated and insulted pretty bad and he said enough is enough and he quit all forums and will not come back.

Bob, I understand, a forum can be good and bad, but the real problem is the moderation I think, after many years a forum can have many power and broken a seller or a collector, internet is a fantastic item for the knowledge and the reputation also lol
Re: my new ss Feldmutze
