Not for awhile. I need to get up to Virginia and see Willi... it belongs to him.

Are you refering to a transition overseas cap --- one with police insignia still on it, or partially still on it?

Here is one that has the cockade missing and was probably a transition piece; between polizei and Waffen-SS.

This is piped just like the Army officer's M38 overseas cap with the aluminum wire piping around the top and then along the scalloped edge of the turnup. This is manufactured in the police green.

Many thanks Bob,

Sorry for the time, I am very busy with my new version forum of German caps Wink

this kind of model cap is rare and not realy expensive, 800 euro for a nice model in a dealer web site in UK.

Sebastien.

If I remember correctly, Willi Schumacher got this from Bill Shea and may have come from the Bob Alexander Collection. Willi uses it when exhibiting his SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer of Polizei-Rifles-Regiment from the 4. SS-Polizei-Panzergrenadier-Division. The uniform, including matching breeches, is police-green and has all Waffen-SS insignia except for the collar tabs, which are police officer. The green on the collar tab matches perfectly with the waffenfarben on the shoulder boards. It has an SS-POLIZEI-DIVISION cuffband on the sleeve just above the French cuff. This cap is the perfect match as it is a transition cap with the police insignia but missing the cockade. Willi also has a black leather belt with a police officer aluminum buckle. Looks great on the manneqin.
